Injuries at work can happen. In such instances, your employer’s insurance company will normally provide you with medical treatment for these on-duty injuries, but sometimes they don’t, or hold back on treatment that should be given. We have experience on how to handle these situations, move to obtain the needed treatment, and ultimately seek a monetary award for your work-related injury.

State Disability
Pensions

Are you a member of the New Jersey State Pension System (PFRS, PERS, TPAF, SPRS) and have you also suffered a disabling injury that requires an earlier retirement? If so, we can assist you with application for Accidental (‘two-thirds’) or Ordinary Disability benefits with the State of New Jersey Division of Pensions and Benefits. We have successfully represented hundreds of clients in disability claims from the agency level up to the Supreme Court of New Jersey.

Steven J. Kossup

Attorney

Steven J. Kossup was born in Irvington, NJ and grew up in the Vailsburg Section of Newark. He attended Seton Hall Prep School (1978-1981), followed by Kean College (1981-1988), and then received his J.D. from Seton Hall Law School (1989-1993).

Steven Kossup is a retired City of Newark Police Officer. He currently has an office in Newton, New Jersey, serving the needs of clients throughout the State of New Jersey. In addition, Mr. Kossup is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and is admitted to practice before both the Supreme Court of the United States and the Federal District Court in New Jersey.

Steven is also a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, the New Jersey Association for Justice (Formerly Association of Trial Lawyers of America) and the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge #12.
